New 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review, Specs, Interior – Since it’s been in production for almost a decade, the current generation of New 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a bit older than most. But, it’s quite a while, especially considering the high-skilled midsize SUV market where newer competitors such as the Kia Sorento or Hyundai Santa Fe have entered.
The Jeep’s greatest asset is its ability to balance a comfortable cabin with lots of features and the confidence to go off-road when required. The Grand Cherokee’s V6 and V8 engines, previously only available in 2020, provide strong performance. It also feels modern, thanks to its current infotainment system. Although fuel economy and cargo space are both negatives, the Grand Cherokee is still alive and not ready to retire.

New 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Redesign
The New 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is rugged and substantial. It perfectly matches its off-road capabilities. Jeep’s distinctive wheel arches and chunky tires are a hallmark of the vehicle. The wheel sizes vary from 17 to 20 inches, depending on the trim. All variants come with automatic headlamps, a spoiler, and a liftgate. Many features vary by trim. Each model has LED daytime running headlamps and LED fog lamps. Power-folding mirrors can be added to any model. All models have a 114.7-inch wheelbase. The Grand Cherokee’s height at the roof rail is 69.3 inches.
It measures 189.8 inches in length and 76.5 inches wide. Ground clearance is variable between 8.6 inches with the standard suspension and 10.8 inches when using the air suspension. The approach/ramp breakover/departure angles for the air suspension are 36.1/22.8/27.1 inches. These figures are 26.2/19/24 inches for the standard rest. The Jeep’s curb weight can vary by trim and drivetrain. The 2WD Laredo is the lightest at 4,513 lbs, while the 4WD Summit (with the V8 engine) weighs 5,258 pounds.
The New 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee cabin is sturdy and comfortable for four people. The base trim has a more basic design than the range-topping model. However, the Summit’s perforated leather seats and Laredo’s plain cloth seats contrast with the Summit’s luxuriously perforated leather seats. The Uconnect infotainment software is easy to use, and everything is accessible to the driver.
Each model comes with dual-zone automatic climate control and a seven-inch multi-view cluster display. Blind-spot monitoring is also available. As you move up the trim levels, you can add extras like heated front and back seats, power-adjustable steering column, forward collision warning, and heated front and rear chairs.
There are five seats in two rows. This gives four adults plenty of head and legroom. The fifth person can fit in the back without compromising the space available in the other outboard positions. Like many SUVs, the driver has a clear view of the road ahead and surrounding areas. The seat also offers a wide range of adjustments.
Most trims have a memory system that adjusts the driver’s seat and tilts the steering column. The step-in height is high, but ingress and exit are easy thanks to the wide-opening doors. Only the wheel well at the back impacts the ingress. Although the A-pillars may partially block the view from corners, the idea out is still good.
New 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine
This Jeep is a bit older-school and does not use turbocharging to power larger, naturally aspirated engines. Instead, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is the default engine. It produces 295 horsepowerand 260 lb. ft. Although the lower trims of the engine are limited to this engine, the eight-speed TorqueFlite auto transmission does an excellent job motivating the New 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee large vehicle. You will need to crank the V6 to achieve maximum performance when towing or dealing with steeper inclines. However, this is not a problem.
On higher trims with 4WD, the optional 5.7-liter V8 engine produces a lazy 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft. Although it’s not as powerful as the V6 engine, you won’t have to rev as much because the big V8 has more torque and lower revs. It’s rare to find a midsize SUV with V8 power, and although it comes at a cost, it’s a unique selling point of the Grand Cherokee. The V8’s passing ability is powerful, and the eight-speed automatic ‘box, although not the fastest, shifts smoothly through its gears.
